Affiliated Engineers W, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer – Science & Technology in San Francisco, California. Salary: $108,000 - $112,000 per year. Job requires up to 20% domestic travel to local or regional project sites.
Responsibilities:
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the overall Engineering design process as an external and internal resource on all facets of developing, designing, and deploying environments;
- Work collaboratively with the client and project partners to identify project technical requirements and user needs and offer technically sound advice and innovative solutions;
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and manage a project work plan, including project schedules, project milestones and deliverables;
- Actively manage internal project teams, project communication, project schedules, and project deliverables;
- Participate in project meetings and lead Mechanical systems focused project meetings;
- Perform engineering/system calculations;
- Responsible for final size and selection of system components;
- Work with equipment suppliers/vendors as necessary;
- Finalize project documents, including owner’s project requirements narrative, basis of design narrative, specifications, drawings, meeting agendas and notes, memos, reports, request for information responses and change directions;
- Review shop drawing submittals, conduct field observations, review project closeout submittals to provide final approvals and/or make critical project decisions;
- Work with Project Coordinator to monitor and ensure project decisions are appropriately documented;
- Create and maintain an action list of open items and monitor progress in resolving issues;
- Delegate and manage work, identify specific tasks, and balance work for Engineers and Designers in order to meet client demands and project deadlines;
- Provide appropriate level of oversight and review work to ensure established engineering principles are consistently used;
- Engage in employee mentoring through project work for staff at all levels of the project;
- Develop processes and tools;
- Develop and maintain marketing materials, educational presentations and training sessions on Mechanical Design projects and present to internal and external audiences;
- Represent the firm in project pursuits, including the preparation of project proposals and project interviews; and,
- Develop fees and proposals for design services.
